Sam is happy to announce his sponsorship of the Santa Cruz Warriors for the 2018-2019 season, joining other businesses and organizations that support the Sea Dubs in developing and maintaining their community programs.

Even in their short time in Santa Cruz, the Warriors have established a strong culture of community involvement, particularly through their many youth programs.

They have been a part of hundreds of community events throughout the county, including programs geared toward local schools and nonprofits. These are some of their current programs, in addition to the camps and skills clinics offered:

  • Read To Achieve

  • Math Warriors

  • Warriors Get Fit

  • Community Jerseys

Taking in a Santa Cruz Warriors game is a great entertainment option downtown, especially if you want to enjoy the buzz and excitement of a live sporting event without the travel and ticket prices that come with an NBA game. While the Santa Cruz Warriors play in a much smaller arena, it’s usually packed with fans and you might even catch Steph Curry or other Golden State Warriors players at some of the games. The atmosphere is fun and family friendly, much like a pared down version of a Golden State Warriors game, often with a promotional giveaway item for the first wave of fans.

Moving To Santa Cruz & Involvement With Local Organizations

The Santa Cruz Warriors are the developmental team for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors. Previously in Bismarck, North Dakota where they played as the Dakota Wizards, the team moved to Santa Cruz in 2012 and have become one of the most popular and profitable franchises in the G League (previously known as the D-league).

Both the Golden State Warriors and the Santa Cruz Warriors won the championship during the 2014-2015 season, with the local team getting a parade downtown to commemorate the accomplishment. For the 2017-2018 year, the Santa Cruz Warriors were named the G League Franchise of the Year, which is a nod to both their success in developing players, as well as their involvement in the Santa Cruz community.

Sam is proud to join the local businesses and sponsors of the Santa Cruz Warriors and contribute to worthwhile programs that make a difference in our community.
